What is Substance Misuse?
Substance misuse is when a person uses drugs or alcohol in a way that causes harm to their health or daily life. This could mean using illegal drugs, taking prescription medication in ways it wasn’t intended, or drinking alcohol at harmful levels. Around three million people in England and Wales use illegal drugs, with around 10% using the most harmful substances but behind every statistic is a person with their own story and their own challenges.
How We Can support You and Your loved ones
We are not doctors or medical professionals, but we work closely with GPs, therapists, social services, and voluntary organisations to make sure your support is part of a joined-up plan.
